lets help each other
Posted: Sat Jul 5, 2008 10:54:42 AM

I see alot of hits on everyones questions, but i dont see anyone responding back to anyone. With all the people asking for help or trying to advertise ,if one question generates 200 hits...someone out of the 200 should be able to at least point someone in the right direction to get help or possibly help them. Otherwise whats the sense of this messageboard. Now dont get me wrong im not trying to sound ungrateful but it seems to me that all the veterans that have been in the buisness for awhile are not  to willing to help out a rookie. But when someone posts a stupid question,or it seems stupid to someone who has been in the buisness a long time, they are the first to make a smart comment. Come on guys...there is enough freight out there for all of us ! Lets help one another out.

I agree.... I posted a move to Phoenix, lots of hits.....no help.  I worked in  a dispatch office for 3 years, these truck drivers have lap tops in their trucks, most have "down" time.  We need to count on each other for loads and information and direction. Good luck to you.
PS. I move in less than 3 weeks and still don't have a driver! Lady Hawke

Ladyhawk,

The reason your not getting any takers is probably because it's illegal for a carrier/owner operator to haul household goods without a Federal Household Movers Permit from the FMCSA. Most hotshots are flatbeds and don't have the permit. The few that run enclosed trailers won't usually touch it because they don't have it either. To move people you need  the permit and a lot of Insurance. Household mover/Van lines are heavily regulated by the FMCSA. They get lots of insurance claims. Good Luck.
